‘Young & Hungry’s’ Aimee Carrero Opens Up About What The Future Holds For Sofia

The fans spoke up and the writers answered! On the first season of Young & Hungry, we barely got to see Aimee Carrero‘s character, but now, we’re all pretty much getting our weekly dosage of Ms. Sofia Rodriguez!

We got a chance to chat with Aimee on her hilarious character and luckily for all you Youngries, the 27-year-old actress gave us the scoop on what we can expect for Sofia’s storyline on the show. Read on to get the EXCLUSIVE deets!

Sofia is such a great character and fans constantly want to see her more on the screen. Is there anything you can tell us about her future on the show?

“I can definitely tell you that she will be going through a lot of changes and they’re going to be difficult and they’re going to be hard learned lessons. But, in the end, I think that you will see a Sofia that is newly reinvigorated and also has learned a little something about herself. So things will definitely get worse for Sofia before they get better.

There’s definitely more Sofia in season 2 in general which is wonderful for me. The entire show revolves around Gabi’s job so because Sofia is not part of the job, it’s was a challenge from the beginning to sort of get Sofia out of the apartment and into the storyline. I think the writers did such a wonderful job of that and I’m so grateful to them. You’ll definitely see a lot more of Sofia this season.”

Is Sofia going to be hanging out in Josh’s apartment more often because they’re kind of friends!

“Definitely more this season than the last. It’s just a delicate balance of storylines and why really would she be there. Under what circumstances could you bring your best friend to work, especially if you work in somebody’s home. Now that Yolanda is living next door to Gabi and Sofia, there will be more exchange there.”

Any future episode teases?

“There’s a really great döppleganger episode coming up where Gabi rents out their apartment for the weekend without telling Sofia just to make some money and they end up having to do this whole thing at Josh’s to cover it up. It’s very complicated and I can’t reveal too much, but she definitely gets more time at the apartment.
