Happy Music Monday! There’s no other way to start your week off except exciting new announcements about the 2016 American Music Awards!
The AMAs are coming up this November 20th, and we need to prepare ourselves. The night will be hosted by Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah! Now you already know how exciting the show will be. And the list of performers are making me so heart eyed!
So to start off the night, we have the ever so dreamy Bruno Mars opening for us! The rest of the night is filled with performances from:
- James Bay
- Fifth Harmony
- Green Day
- The Weeknd
- Shakira and Carlos Vives
- John Legend
- Shawn Mendes
- Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj
- Chainsmokers and Halsey
And get this, 21 Pilots will have their debut TV performance that night as well! What a line up! I am so beyond excited for this… I mean you’d have to be absolutely crazy if you weren’t!
Now of course, the AMAs aren’t just one performance after another. It’s obviously an award show, so that means AWARDS! One of the biggest awards of the night is “New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile.”

Yup, that’s right! Not only are The Chainsmokers and Shawn Mendes performing, but they’re also nominated for awards! And this is hottie Shawn Mendes’ FIRST AMA nominee. Wow … Shawn’s debut AMA performance AND first nomination. I bet he feels like he’s already won!
