“The Bachelor” Week 7 Recap: And Then There Were Four

All the women are freaking out! It definitely seems like Nick is just going to give up on this whole thing! Keep reading to find out what went down on this week’s episode of “The Bachelor.”

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

The morning after the horrific 2 on 1, all the women wake up uneasy. Nick was so upset the night before that it really feels like he might just walk away from all of this. There is also the added pressure of home town dates only being a week away! The women are pretty much nervous wrecks at this point and that’s when Nick walks in. He seems a bit better but still distressed. He gives a whole speech about how hard this process is and just when you really think he’s calling it quits, he decides to stay. Good job Nick! All the women (including me) exhale a sigh of relief. That’s when Nick announces that there will be no cocktail party and no rose ceremony. Instead the group will be heading to the island of Bimini!

Bimini Boppity Boo

Vanessa gets the first 1 on 1 in Bimini. Here’s to hoping none of the day’s activities nauseate her. Corrine’s upset because she’s the only one in the house that hasn’t had a 1 on 1 date. I feel like she really hasn’t needed one and she should just get over it. On the date, Vanessa and Nick hangout on a yacht. Vanessa talks about her insecurities and Nick comforts her. She says this past week has made her nervous but after talking to Nick she feels her walls coming back down. Vanessa feels like she’s falling in love with Nick and she plans to tell him at dinner. She says she “knows” Nick feels the same way she does.

“I’m not going anywhere.” – Vanessa

At the dinner portion of their date, Vanessa gets emotional and tells Nick she sees a future with him and wants him to meet her family. She says the feelings she has for Nick, she hasn’t felt in a long time. Then she finally tells him she’s falling in love with him. His reaction wasn’t as awful as the past couple times a woman has told him this but it still wasn’t what Vanessa was expecting. He tells her that he “really really likes her” but he can’t say he loves her back. He only plans on saying those words to one woman. I personally respected Nick for this. I’m happy he’s not going to bust a Ben and say those words to more than one woman. Vanessa is disappointed by his answer and feels uneasy again.

Shark Bait

Kristina, Corrine, and Raven are on the group date this week. They hop on a yacht and immediately start competing for Nick’s attention. Corrine is the self-proclaimed “queen of group dates” but doesn’t feel as confident when Kristina starts getting most of the attention. Nick announces that they’ll be swimming with sharks on their date. All the women seem nervous about this except for Raven. Raven claims she’ll punch a shark in the face if it tries to eat her. Apparently Raven handles sharks the same way she handles cheating ex-boyfriends.

“Most likely to be eaten today is Corrine.” – Raven

While swimming with sharks, Kristina freaks out and gets back on the boat. Nick gets out of the water to go comfort her. Corrine is so bitter. She feels like this group date has been focused on Kristina. Later at the group date cocktail party, Nick pulls Kristina aside first. He gets emotional and starts venting about his tough week. She comforts him and they share an intimate moment. Next, Nick talks to Raven. She tells him that her parents are going to be so excited to meet him. Raven always exudes positive energy. Finally, Corrine gets her 1 on 1 time. She starts crying to him about how she hasn’t gotten a 1 on 1 date. He comforts her and she feels great again. It seems like it’s always so easy for Nick to comfort Corrine. In a shocking turn of events, Nick gives Raven the group date rose and she wins more alone time with him. I honestly didn’t see that one coming.

“Not Great Enough”

The second 1 on 1 date goes to Danielle. The chemistry between Danielle and Nick is really lacking and it’s written all over Nick’s face. It was clear that they were struggling to have a natural conversation. She’s hopeful that she’s found love with Nick. She says she’s crazy about him and wants to take him home to meet her family. At dinner, she tells Nick that her heart is open to him. Danielle hasn’t really opened her heart to someone since her fiance past away. Nick knows he doesn’t feel the same way about Danielle and slowly tells her that he doesn’t think his heart can get there. Nick says, “You’re so great” and Danielle responds with, “Not great enough.” She goes back to the suite and says an emotional goodbye to the women. I figured Danielle and Nick wouldn’t end up together but I still really felt for. I hope she find love on paradise.

Platinum Vagine

Meanwhile back at the suite, Corrine is still upset that she didn’t get the group date rose. She decides to get dressed up and go visit Nick. Ultimately her plan is to seduce him.

“My heart is gold, but my vagine is platinum.” – Corrine

She tells Nick that she wanted to come see if he was okay. He invites her in and offers her a drink. The two start making out and Corrine makes it pretty clear what her intentions are. They go behind a closed door and it sounds like they’re going to go all the way but then Nick asks Corrine to slow down because this isn’t a good idea. He tells Corrine not to feel bad but she can’t help feeling like her plan backfired. The whole point of her seduction was to be back on top (no pun intended). She leaves feeling mortified. It’s a whole other type of walk of shame.

Spoiler

So by now I’m sure you’ve heard that Rachel was announced to be the next bachelorette. It was announced on Jimmy Kimmel Monday night. I have no idea why ABC would make this announcement while she’s till on the show. Regardless, I’d like to express my excitement over the fact that we’re going to have our first ever black bachelorette! This is a huge deal for bachelor nation. Even though we know Rachel and Nick don’t end up together, we have to talk about their date. Basically the date goes really well and Nick insinuates that he plans to meet her family. He’s pretty nervous to meet her dad because he’s a federal judge plus she told Nick she’s never brought home a white guy. That should be fun to watch!

“I love sports, but I don’t play games.” – Rachel

Goodbye

Nick knows who he wants to send home this week but he respects this woman too much to wait till the rose ceremony. He decides to go visit the women and say his goodbye there. Corrine is freaking out because she really feels like she screwed things up with her vagine. Nick walks in the house and asks for Kristina. I was SHOCKED. I completely did not see that coming! He starts to break up with Kristina and they’re both extremely emotional. Kristina tells him that he didn’t give her a fair chance. This breakup was probably the hardest to watch thus far. Poor Kristina.

The episode ended pretty ambiguously. I believe there is still going to be a rose ceremony next week but I’m not sure if anyone is going to get sent home. We also are expecting some type of guest to appear next week and talk to Nick. I can’t wait to see who it is. My bets are on Andy.
