Wow! This week’s episode of “The Bachelorette” takes the cake for most dramatic second week! I’ve never seen so much drama arise in the first week of dates. Keep reading to find out what happened!

Husband Material Challenge

This week, Rachel took some of the guys on the first group date of the season and it did not disappoint! Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis made a surprise appearance on the date. They are the definition of relationship goals and there is no couple better suited to help Rachel find her future husband! The men were told that they’d be competing in a “Husband Material” obstacle course challenge judged by Ashton and Mila. The obstacle course covers everything from changing a baby diaper to pulling hair out of a drain. Kenny feels that he’s at an advantage because he’s already a dad. Once the men began the challenge, they were all over the place. Mila was literally on the floor laughing. Whaboom and Kenny were neck and neck the whole race until whaboom shoves Kenny (the pro wrestler) out of the way and wins the challenge! Blake, who’s been obsessing over whaboom the entire day, calls him a cheater and gets ignored.

Further Your Whaboom!

At the group date cocktail party, Blake tells the men that he knew whaboom prior to the show and that his intentions aren’t true. The other men know Lucas (whaboom) is a goofball but they trust Rachel’s judgment and don’t feel the need to dwell on it. Meanwhile, Rachel was just not feeling the romance or chemistry with any of the guys on the date. She talks to Lucas who reads her a poem, Iggy who is sweating profusely, and Mr. Grouchy pants Blake. Blake decides to talk to Rachel about Lucas. He tells her that Lucas isn’t there for the right reasons and that he’s just being a clown to get TV exposure. Then Blake shares that he lives with Lucas’ ex-girlfriend and that’s apparently how he knows all these things. Blake is a giant tool. My absolute pet peeve on this show is when men obsess over other men and sabotage their own image in the process. I hope Rachel sends Blake home. Oh, but that’s not all! Blake then proceeds to confront Lucas himself. Blake tells Lucas he spoke to Rachel about him and then says one of my favorite lines of the night… “I know you’re only here to further your Whaboom!”

“Listen, I’m a wrestler. I know all about white dudes acting crazy.” – Kenny

Dean Charming

Rachel’s night takes a pleasant turn when she gets some alone time with Dean. They have the definite spark and chemistry that she had been looking for all night. They end the conversation without a kiss but Dean is hopeful they can make some time later. Dean couldn’t be more right because after talking to a few more guys, Rachel decides to give him the rose. He offers to walk her out and they finally get their steamy kiss which leaves Rachel with a huge smile! I’m so excited about the connection she has with Dean. *Sigh*

Puppy Love

Rachel’s first one-on-one date of the season was with Peter! I absolutely am obsessed with Peter. He’s perfect. They were accompanied by Rachel’s adorable dog, Copper. The threesome took a private jet to Palm Springs where they attended “Bark Fest.” Peter and Rachel discover that they have a lot in common, starting with the gaps in their teeth. They both acknowledged that if they had kids together, their kids would be screwed.  Peter gets the rose and the date concludes with fireworks (literally and figuratively).

“I am such a smitten Kitten over Peter.” – Rachel

Love & Basketball

The second group date of the week was a basketball date where the men were visited and coached by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Later, the men were split into two teams to compete against each other. Rachel was excited to see the guys play because she admits one of her weaknesses is an athlete. The date goes well until the game is over. Rachel is visited by a woman who tells her that DeMario is keeping a secret. She’s apparently his girlfriend or ex-girlfriend… we don’t really know. She says DeMario still has the keys to her apartment. Rachel is livid and asks to speak to DeMario. Rachel used her law background to corner DeMario and catch him in his lies. Then she sent him home. I think Rachel handled this the best way she could. She was really effected by the situation and questioned whether she wanted to keep going. She approached the rest of the guys and told them that if they had any secrets that they need to tell her or leave. The men felt equally betrayed by DeMario.

Second Chances

At the rose ceremony, Rachel was feeling a lot better. She took the time to talk to each of her guys and each of them made an attempt at cheering her up. Everything is going smoothly until DeMario shows back up and asks to speak with Rachel. Chris Harrison tells Rachel it’s up to her. She confesses that she’s curious and heads over to talk to him. That’s where the episode ended and we were left hanging. To be continued…
