#MusicMonday: Bea Miller Releases Debut Album “Not An Apology”

Bea Miller may seem like she just burst onto the scene, but the 16-year-old has been plugging away since 2012, when she placed ninth in the second season of the U.S. version of “X-Factor.”

Her debut album, “Not An Apology,” hit shelves this week and is expected to sell around 23,000 units — that’s pretty impressive! Not to mention her debut single, “Young Blood,” reached around 150,000 views in less than a week! The sophomore single, “Fire ‘N Gold” also has also quickly taken off, so there is no doubt “Not An Apology” will be a success.

The album is a mix between Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson with a dash of Avril Lavigne. I feel like although Bea has similar sound to the all the pop sensations before her, she has a really unique voice and is capable to holding her own against some of the best in pop music.

I’m currently obsessing over “Dracula” and it’s impossible not to love the song — it has such a catchy beat! I love how it sounds so different from the other tracks, it stands alone, yet meshes well with the entire album. The ballad, “Force of Nature” is another great track on the record. It’s absolutely beautiful and every time it comes on I stop what I’m doing to listen, it’s THAT good! Her emotional vocals on the track are so meserizing. “Paper Doll” is also another notable track on her debut album, but now that I think of it, there isn’t a song on this album, I don’t like!

Recently, Radio Disney, named the teen, their Next Big Thing (NBT) artist. Which isn’t surprising since the teen is represented by Hollywood Records, a division of Disney and Syco Music. This is the first time the two companies have merged together. But nevertheless, Bea is very well deserving of this honor.

This summer you can see the up-and-comer opening alongside Natalie La Rose and Debby Ryan for Fifth Harmony‘s Reflection Tour — another successful product of “X-Factor.”
