The winners, the speeches, the host but most importantly the performances! This years American Music Awards definitely had our twitter fingers on fire! Setting the tone for the night Bruno Mars opened the show with his hit, “24k Magic” and with a total of 16 performances, we were left with plenty to talk about. As always he are our top picks on outstanding performances of the night!

7. Niall Horan

Making his solo debut, the former one directioner performed his new single “This Town”. Can’t say he didn’t hold his own, despite the very slight shade thrown by former group mate Zayn Malik, who won his first award as a solo artist and quickly took to the mic for a very subtle but clear message, “This one just has my name on it right?” … OUCH!

6. The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey

Having already seen the performance of their hit single “Closer” at the VMA’s we knew from the start this would be a comparison. Same song but completely different performances! Not only did Halsey and Drew Taggart sing their little hearts out, but this time around they included backup dancers and a surprise killer drum set from Travis Barker!

5. John Legend

Not sure if it was the performance in itself or the fact that wife Chrissy Teigen presented her hubby that had us all hasthaging #GOALS. His performance of “Love me Now” inspired us to change our tinder BIO to “looking for serious relationship” #couplegoals.

4. Lady Gaga

A guitar and a voice is all that is needed. Gaga showed us once again her immense talent performing song, “Million Reasons”. Honestly after the performance she gave us during Carpool Karaoke with James Corden it’s hard to believe she’d ever give us anything less than her 110%.

3. Justin Bieber

Just as AMAZING as ever! Directly from his Purpose world tour in Italy, Bieber performed “Let Me Love You” and watching all those fans in tears had us all reaching for the tissues. #BelieberFoLife

2. Ariana Grande feat. Nicki Minaj

The dynamic duo of the night. They performed their hit banger, “Side to Side” unlike their VMA performance the set was not a gym but regardless the ladies still broke a sweat! Things definitely got wild.

1. Fifth Harmony

Hot! Hot! Hot! The girls definitely set that stage on fire, literally! They completely slayed the performance of their song “That’s My Girl”. Dance moves, outfits, vocals all perfection! 5 out of 5!
