Dancing with the Stars: Memorable Year

Grab some tissues and a box of chocolates because Monday’s “Memorable Year” night of Dancing With The Stars was an emotional roller coaster. Every celebrity came to the dance floor looking to tell their story and they delivered. However, we had to set our emotional selves aside and pick our favorites.

Sharna Burgess and James Hinchcliffe

This week my first favorite goes to a couple who I am always a fan of, Sharna Burgess and James Hinchcliffe. Sharna choreographed an amazing jazz routine inspired by a near death accident James experienced just 18 months ago. The two had incredible chemistry and energy making the entire routine look effortless. I absolutely love watching these two, and I’m not the only one. Bruno Tonioli raved about the two saying, “You went into hyper drive, you were super slick and super sharp.” Carrie Ann Inaba continued the praise saying, “You are the one to beat.” The two received a well deserved 29 out of 30.

Marilu Henner and Derek Hough

My second favorite this week goes to Marilu Henner and Derek Hough with their Viennese waltz. Marilu used her mothers passing and influence as her motivation to finally open up on the dance floor, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Derek let Marilu have the spotlight this week and she looked completely confident and at ease. I feel like she finally had her moment on the show that she has been waiting for. After receiving a group hug from all the judges, Julianne Hough commented, “I am so happy for you because I know how much you want this, you did it, you absolutely did it tonight.” The two were awarded a 27 out of 30 from the judges.

Honorable Mentions

DANCING WITH THE STARS - "Episode 2305" - The nine remaining celebrities will set out to leave a lasting impression with their dances as they commemorate their most memorable year, on "Dancing with the Stars," live, MONDAY, OCTOBER 10 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. My honorable mentions for this week go to my favorites Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold. Their impressive and underscored jazz routine to “Ain’t No Mountain High” was so good! Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev’s emotionally charged fox trot to “From The Ground Up” was equally just as great.
