“Dancing with the Stars” Week 3: The Debate

Monday’s condensed and quick night of Dancing with the Stars was full of “debates,” dance style. However, like every week we still had our favorites, including both of our picks, Calving Johnson and Lindsay Arnold!

Maddison’s Favorites

Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold

Although they were one of my top picks last week, I couldn’t help but clap ferociously when Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold finished their Viennese Waltz to a “Woman’s World.” The whole thing was perfection. Lindsay’s choreography perfectly tapped into Calvin’s graceful side, something that was a complete joy to watch. The whole routine looked effortless, which can be quite the challenge to achieve in the dance world. As if solid eights weren’t enough, the two beat Terra Jole and Sasha Farber in their face-off. I like to call that icing on the cake. Calvin, keep smiling because you are amazing!

Babyface and Allison Holker

My other top pick this week is a newcomer to my favorite list, Babyface and Allison Holker with their jive to “Great Gosh A’Mighty.” I’ve had my eye on Babyface since week one, because I feel he has just been waiting to break out of his shell. Thankfully, this week he finally did. His jive was full of energy and so much fun to watch. It was evident that even Allison couldn’t help but have a lot of fun herself. I can’t wait to see Babyface come out of his shell even more and take on more hip shaking. Although Babyface and Allison did not win their face-off challenge against Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko, they are winners in my book.

Sharna Burgess and James Hinchcliffe

My honorable mentions this week go to my continued favorites, Sharna Burgess and James Hinchcliffe with their killer 70’s inspired cha-cha, as well as, Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy’s sensual tango. Plus, any girl who says her inspiration is, “smelling a really good quesadilla” is a winner in our book!

Heather’s Favorites

Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy

WHOA who is this grown woman that showed up and stunned tonight?! Donning straight hair and a black ensemble, Laurie brought out the vixon in her! I love in the prepackage, she jokes about never having a boyfriend and sleeping with her teddy bear at night. I would have never guessed! But as Val says “It takes two to tango!” and they sure know how to tango together! Laurie noting that she just pretended like she was smelling a really good quesadilla. I’m pretty sure that qualifies her as my spirit animal.
I have to call out Carrie Ann. She dinged them a point for a lift. Like what? LAME Carrie, LAME!

Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold

I have to agree with Maddison on this one. There is just something so magical about watching these two performing. I love that Calvin mentioned that he isn’t gentle with a football, but needs to be on the dance floor. You fool me, Calvin! With their Viennese Waltz earning 32 points, they have to be proud.

Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy

My honorable mention this week goes to Muva. Although almost unrecognizable donning a brunette wig and blue eyes, she looked comfortable tonight. This is the first time I feel like she felt semi in her element. Performing to JLo’s Big booty, the model’s tush was on full display, just how she likes it! They received a 25, which I feel if pretty good for them. I’d like to see her work more on her technique, but keep up the great spirit she had tonight.

Well, that’s all for tonight. We can’t wait to see who makes it through tomorrow! Tweet us your thoughts!
