Season 1

We start off with our girl Rory just getting into Chilton, but unfortunately Lorelai can’t afford the upscale, private school.  So what does she do? That’s right, she does the unthinkable and goes to her parents. Of course the Gilmores are more than excited to help out, but there’s a catch: Friday night dinners in exchange for paying for Chilton. As awful as this might sound to Lorelai, her best friend and daughter is able to follow her dream, so nothing is too much.

Through the rest of the first season, Rory attends Chilton but doesn’t have the greatest time. Insert Paris, Madeline, Louise, and Tristan.  Our dear Rory get’s the nickname “Mary” for being a prude while having to battle Paris and her posse of Madeline and Louise who seem to rule the school.

Tristan is the bad boy who Paris is in love with, while Tristan seems to be falling for Rory. All this while Rory starts a relationship with Dean. Quite the love triangle!

Dean completely loves Rory. After building Rory her own car, he drops the L-word … But Rory couldn’t return his feelings. At least not right then. This causes them to break up, and Rory ends up kissing Tristan. But don’t worry, at the end of the season we learn that Rory “loves that idiot!”

And we can’t forget about Lorelai, now! While Rory is dealing with her own love life, Lorelai starts dating Rory’s teacher, Max Medina, and has a fling with Rory’s dad, Christopher Hayden. But at the end of the season, Lorelai ends up engaged to Max!

Season 2

Rory is now a junior at Chilton.  Lorelai ends the engagement to Max and starts getting closer to Christopher. Dean starts getting super clingy and gets jealous of Rory’s new found friendship with Luke’s nephew Jess.

Lorelai and Sookie are also trying to get their lives together and start their own inn, since they’ve been planning forever. They’ve got their eye on the Dragonfly Inn, but unfortunately, the owner won’t sell. Lorelai’s not the only Gilmore with career troubles either. Richard, her father, get’s forced out of his high-powered insurance consultant job.

Things really aren’t looking too well for our Gilmores. The more Rory tries to convince Dean that Jess means nothing, the more she seems to fall for Jess. And Lorelai and Chris getting closer doesn’t lead anywhere when Sherry, Chris’s girlfriend, ends up pregnant. And yes, it’s his baby.  Oh yeah, and Rory ends up kissing Jess at the end of the season. YIKES!

Season 3

Senior year, and Rory has her eyes on the prize: Harvard University!  Paris and Rory team up to be the President and VP of student council. And by team up, of course I mean that Paris somehow convinced Rory.  Add the fact that someone forces Rory to go against Paris.  But hey, Rory gets into Harvard and Princeton and Yale!  Poor Paris breaks down when she doesn’t get into Harvard, but at least she has Rory to comfort her.

And SURPRISE! Rory ends up choosing Yale over Harvard! Her entire life up until then had been Harvard this and Harvard that. Richard may have some influence, but at the end of the day, Rory made her choice on her own … and Lorelai just had to accept it.

Speaking of Lorelai, she is still devastated about the Christopher situation and only dates here and there throughout the season. Rory on the other hand has a completely tragic and public break up with Dean when he realizes there’s something between Rory and Jess. And all you Team Jess people know what happens next. Rory and Jess start dating. But when things don’t go well for Jess, where does he run off to? That’s right, all the way across the country to California!

Season 4

Rory is finally at Yale and this means a lot of changes for our beloved Gilmore Girls.  Lorelai and Rory start adjusting to being apart. However, Lorelai has somewhat of a distraction as she tries to finally open up the Dragonfly Inn. Her partner, Sookie, can’t really help either because she’s having a baby!

Lorelai isn’t the only Gilmore who’s got some new business. Richard finally starts a new company with his enemy’s son. Unfortunately, Emily and him start having major marriage problems.

Jason, Richard’s new partner, starts dating Lorelai. However, things get messy because of Jason’s connection to the Gilmore clan.  And at the end of the season, Lorelai and Luke finally end up together at the end! I don’t know about you, but Luke and Lorelai are my OTP forever!

As for Rory, she dates no one as she tries to handle the ups and downs of college. She has problems adjusting to the workload, and, well, guess who’s back: Paris! And she’s Rory’s college roommate!

Rory also ends up in a sticky situation as she starts getting closer and closer to Dean again. But this time, Dean has a wife, and Rory and him end up together … while he’s still married. So while Rory’s love life takes a bad turn, Lorelai’s finally ends up the way we all have been waiting for!

Season 5

Ahhh … Lorelai and Luke are FINALLY TOGETHER! And well, Rory and Dean end up together … while he’s still married to Lindsay. When Lindsay finds out, he gets kicked out and divorced. And then Dean and Rory realize they have nothing in common anymore, so that’s that.

But that doesn’t leave Rory alone, however, because Logan Huntzberger enters her life. Logan is the wealthy and privilege jerk that teases poor Marty. With his high status, Logan is able to blow off everything and run wild with his buddies in the Death Brigade.  Then with a turn of events, Rory ends up falling for Logan who’s also a well-known playboy. They started an open relationship until Rory couldn’t handle it anymore, and Logan decided to take a chance by making it an exclusive, serious relationship.

When you enter Logan into the equation, you also bring in his father, Mitchum Huntzberger who is one of the most famous and successful newspaper chief editors in the business. Mitchum offers Rory a job at an upcoming newspaper where at the end, he tells Rory she’s not going to make it in the newspaper industry.

With this news, Rory is so upset, she gets Logan to steal a boat with her. The two then get arrested. With all this, Rory ends up taking a break from Yale to figure her life out.

As for Richard and Emily, they separate for the first half of the season, but get back together with a big bang of a vow renewal. Go big or go home, am I right?

And while all this is happening, Lorelai and Luke have a whirlwind relationship. Emily gets Chris involved and breaks the two up for a while. But then Lorelai takes things into her own hands, excommunicates the two from her life, and ends up back together with Luke. At the end of the season, with Lorelai upset with Rory’s life decisions, she ends up proposing to Luke.

Season 6

Not gonna lie, I really couldn’t stand this season aka the season of the Rory and Lorelai feud. Angry at Rory’s choices and how her parents chose to handle it, Lorelai stops talking to them altogether.

Lorelai and Luke are now engaged and things were going just great for them until April comes. No, I don’t mean the month, I mean Luke’s 12 year old daughter his ex-girlfriend, Anna, failed to mention to him. Luke couldn’t wrap his head around it and in turn failed to mention the news to Lorelai. When he finally did, it took him forever to let them into each other’s lives.

Near the end of the season, Lorelai feels left out and is tired of waiting. So, she gives Luke an ultimatum. Luke couldn’t handle it all and couldn’t make a decision. Christopher, ends up back in the Gilmore life when he inherits money, then ends up in bed with and upset Lorelai.

Rory, who isn’t speaking to Lorelai, is busy with community service after the stolen yacht arrest. Throughout this time, she’s living with her grandparents and getting closer to Logan. However, Logan and her end up in a fight and Logan goes back to his playboy ways while separated. But, they end up together again after Logan ends up in a terrible drunken accident during a Death Brigade stunt.

Thankfully, mother and daughter reunite and Rory goes back to Yale. Rory moves forward from the Mitchum debacle and even became the Yale Daily News editor in chief taking over from Paris. At least, the Gilmore girls are happily together again.

Season 7

The final season, and Lorelai gets married in Paris … but to Christopher. However, Chris ends up realizing that Lorelai and him are not meant to be. And yes, even Chris finally realizes that Luke and Lorelai are meant to be together! After divorcing and some healing time, Luke and Lorelai finally end up back together at the end.

Rory caught up on all the work she missed and is finishing up her last year at Yale.  Logan and her keep up their serious relationship, and through Logan, she gets a job writing for an online journal while in school. Sadly, she doesn’t get the job she wants with the New York Times after graduation, but gets offered a job with the website she was writing for to follow Obama on his campaign trail.

At the end, Rory chooses career over Logan and turns down his marriage proposal. But hey, at least Luke and Lorelai are finally together again.

Okay, now that you’re all caught up, are you ready for the revival? Are you Team Logan, Team Jess, or Team Dean? Who do you want her to end up with? Let us know what you’re most excited for in the comments below or on Twiter!
