“Guilt” S1 E5 Recap: The Eye of the Needle

Freeform’s mystery, crime drama, “Guilt,” continues to get better each week.  As new questions get answered, new questions are formed.  This week’s episode was no different.  Between Patrick Ryan performing an investigation of his own, the stalker being revealed, Bruno and Natalie’s romance heating up and the eerie conversation between Luc and Grace.. We already cannot wait for next week!

Patrick Ryan has not been hiding the fact that he will find Molly’s killer at any cost.  He has decided to take matters into his own hands, and he is not beneath strangling a man in his car to get what he wants.  He knows he needs to get into the secret club and he blackmails a man to do so.  Lucky for him, it was worth it.  He manages to steal the client ledger, where he learns that Molly was always assigned to guest number 33.  While we do not yet know who guest 33 is for sure, it’s safe to assume that it is Prince Leo.  Is Patrick Ryan getting ahead of himself?  He seems to be thinking he is invincible at this point, and for the sake of himself, I hope he’s right.. But you have to be a little on edge when the prince’s “people” are now on the hunt for you.

This episode wasn’t all business and breaking into clubs, the romance continues to heat up between Detective Bruno and Natalie… and I’m into it!  With all the work and drama they’re both involved in, it is nice to see them locking themselves away and opening up to each other.  But is it too good to be true?  I can’t help but to worry that one of them may have an ulterior motive.  Meanwhile, while they’re cozying up, Grace gets herself in a situation with Neville.

Due to Luc’s arrest for drugs, Grace spent the entire night at the police station.  When she finally decides to leave she is swarmed by the press and paparazzi, causing her to break her phone.  Thankfully a mysterious man saves the day and gets her out of the madness.  He says he has the tools to fix Grace’s phone in his shop, so we are taken there.  We find out that his name is Neville, and Grace realizes that this is the guy who had been stalking Molly when she sees Molly’s dress and her stuffed monkey.  Emotions and tensions get real high when it is a physical battle to get out of the shop.  Grace gets out but not far after Neville reaches her and holds scissors to her throat.  Don’t worry, Bruno and Natalie save the day!!! And Neville is taken into custody.

While Neville was clearly Molly’s stalker, to me he didn’t seem like a killer.  Bruno seemed to agree.  When he went back to the shop after the fact, he quickly rules Neville out because it is clear that he is left handed and Molly’s killer was right handed.  I’m curious, however, to how Neville will contribute to the rest of the story and the mystery.  I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him yet!

The last scene of this episode was something I never saw coming! Grace convinces Natalie to go dancing, but not before she stops to talk to Luc.  This conversation left me on major edge.  Grace asks Luc if the police asked him anymore about what happened the night that Molly died and says, “No one can know, Luc, ever” and he replies “it’s our secret.”  WHAT CAN PEOPLE NEVER KNOW?!? My gut tells me that Grace is not Molly’s killer, but she is definitely up to something.  Is she really who we think she is, or is she the sociopath the media has painted her as.
This show is driving us nuts, but in the best way possible!  Continuing to make us question who murdered Molly and what other characters are willing to do to save themselves.  The mystery is only beginning and I can’t wait to see what happens next.  Make sure you’re tuning in on Freeform every Monday night to see the craziness unfold.  Also, leave us your comments and theories below or tweet us @popheartstv !
