A Look Back at Selena Gomez’s Top AMA Performances

It’s no secret Selena Gomez knows how to rock any stages she steps out on, but she holds nothing back when it comes to her past performances at the American Music Awards. This year Selena is premiering her new single “Wolves” featuring Marshmello and has already began rehearsing for the major debut.

She posted this Instagram live video of her alongside her producer & songwriter Andrew Watt, having a quick acoustic run through of the new song.

In honor of her releasing her new single, we wanted to look back on some of Selena’s iconic performance while we await what she will bring us this year.

2016

Selena did not perform at the 2016 AMA’s but instead won over everyone’s hearts by giving one of the best acceptance speeches after accepting the AMA for Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock. She had recently taken a break from the spotlight to focus on her mental health & her speech addressed that. Everyone was so inspired and moved by her speech, Lady Gaga was so obsessed with her and her reaction is frankly all I need in life.

2015

Selena gave us a steamy performance when she sang her single “Same Old Love” at the 2015 AMAs. Her mesh sparkly black jumpsuit and killer dance movies had all eyes on her. This was only her second time performing at the AMA’s and it was well worth the hype.

2014

Selly G performed at the AMA’s for the very first time in 2014, an extremely emotional performance singing her hit at the time “The Heart Wants What It Wants”. Selena even caught herself overwhelmed with tears at the end of her performance as the song is inspired by her rocky relationship with Justin Bieber. This is still one of many Selenators favorite performances as it was one of the first times she was super authentic with all her fans and friends alike.

We can’t wait for Selena to kick off the AMA’s this year with her brand new single and potentially her new (old) boo on her arm?? I know I’m hoping to see some support from the newly rekindled Justin and Selena! Make sure you guys tune into the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC to catch all your favorite artists in one place!
