“Married at First Sight” Season 4, Episode 4: Home Sweet Home

Move in day, it’s like reliving freshman year of college all over again. You’re either moving into the dorm room with your best friend or a complete stranger. For the three Married At First Sight couples it happens to be the latter, however, at least they kind of got to know each other on their honeymoons. It’s house hunting time!

Problems facing the couples moving in together thus far:

  • Will Lilly accept the fact that Tom lives in a tour bus?
  • Will Sonia get over her lifelong fear of dogs? Nick has two.
  • Will Derek and Heather actually stay together long enough to figure out if they’re moving in together?

Pop Hearts TV has got the answers covered for you!

Nick and Sonia

Oh Nick and Sonia, our naïve, seemingly inexperienced couple. They ended their honeymoon on a high note and no I don’t mean they finally wrestled in between the sheets. NO, they had a beautiful night side ocean picnic and discussed their future.

Upon arriving home from the Dominican Republic we get to see both Nick and Sonia’s homes. We learn Sonia works for a non-profit and doesn’t make near as much as Nick does. She thinks it will be a deciding factor in their marriage. Luckily for her and society, Nick sees past this and applauds her for her charitable work and admits he finds it very sexy quality about her.

The next hurdle the couple has to jump is Nick’s dogs. Sonia is deathly afraid of dogs, even his 5lb mutts … girl get a grip! After watching Nick’s interaction with his dogs, we’re talking total make out session with his animals. Sonia points out that she wished Nick was as into her as he is his dogs. #FunnySonia.

She hesitantly goes into Nick’s apartment and meets his dogs, but in the end they decide it’s best to get a place together and they settle on an adorable Spanish looking home with abstract architecture inside. A perfect fit for a couple that is very abstract and peculiar.

Tom and Lilly

Our love birds are flying high after their honeymoon and it’s time for Lilly and Tom to see each other’s places.

Lilly’s place is quaint, a little bare and not very homey, but it’s her home nonetheless. Like most women Lilly uses EVERY closet in her apartment to store clothes, shoes, purses, accessories, etc. #SlayLilly!

That is a big indication that she is going to need A LOT of space for those important items. As we previously learned, Tom lives on a tour bus, which means space is tight … very tight.

This aspect of his life was a main stressor for him on the honeymoon and he wasn’t quite sure how to tell Lilly his living arrangements. So, Tom does what most people do when they are avoiding the elephant in the room and he waits until they drive up to the bus to tell Lilly.

OMG, Lilly totally thinks it’s awesome and actually gives him credit for his decorating chops. Which knew she would be fine with. They’re so in love they only see what’s in front of them… each other!

Another curveball Tom throws Lilly’s way is the idea of getting a postnuptial agreement. This means that whatever money Tom makes Tom keeps, and whatever money Lilly makes Lilly keeps. Despite being legally married, their assets will remain separate from one another until they extinguish the agreement.

To no one’s surprise Lilly is all on board and they are just cruising through this married at first sight thing like nobody’s business. Tom and Lilly break in their new home with a home cooked meal and LOTS of wine!

Derek and Heather

Well this marriage isn’t going quite like Derek and Heather would’ve hoped. It was pretty much over after day two of the honeymoon, this coming straight from the horse’s mouth (Derek).

Things end on a happy drunken note in Puerto Rico, but when it comes to packing the next day Heather is a mute and Derek shuffles around silently. Time and time again Heather says she has “reached her breaking point” and she’s “exhausted.” Literally, those were the only phrases she kept saying during her interviews and during her discussion with Pastor Cal.

Getting back to the states means an intervention with Pastor Cal and let’s just say he slapped Heather in the face with the hard core truth! Pastor Cal attempts a joint intervention session, but Heather sticks to her two lines and won’t open up at all.

Derek on the other hand is like a rain cloud and won’t stop talking. He at least is trying to make the marriage work… can’t say that for Heather. Pastor Cal decides to have Derek leave the room and talk to Heather one-on-one. She FINALLY opens up. Not a lot but a tiny bit, about how she’s turned off by Derek’s behavior and attitude on the honeymoon.

The pastor decides to give Heather a few days to herself at her own home to collect her thoughts. After a few days the couple will reconvene with him to decide if they want to stay married or get a divorce. This could lead to one of the biggest plot twists in Married At First Sight history.

Married At First Sight Predictions

I have a really good prediction as to which way this marriage will go. I predicts Derek and Heather will split and end their marriage, AND the producers of Married At First Sight will either bring on a new couple to the show, OR match Derek with another woman!!!! I know, call me crazy, but wouldn’t this be EPIC?

Next week’s Married At First Sight episode brings about baby talk between Tom and Lilly, the ‘L’ word and how NOT in ‘L’ Nick is with Sonia. The decision between Derek and Heather. Life is getting real for these couples and it’s only going to get juicier from here!
