Rumple Wants All the Magic

Rumple has a flair for collecting things but this episode takes the cake. With the Olympian crystal in his hands, he wants to take all the magic for himself so he can free his ladylove and baby mama, Belle, from her sleeping curse.

Henry Gives the Worst Date

Although many would see taking your gf to NYC as romantic, doing so because you steal the Olympian crystal from your grandpa and want to destroy all magic, doesn’t exactly scream romance. They did get pizza along their way to change the world. Henry tricks his moms into going to Boston while he heads to the New York Public Library with Violet to get more answers about destroying magic. Magic has always ruined things for his family so he figures this will help them. Little does he know that since Storybrooke was built with magic, that means it’ll be in trouble as well. Due to his actions, half of Storybrooke have to head to the enchanted forest and Snow, Charming, Zelena and Hook wind up in a new villian’s clutches.

Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Snow, Charming, Hook and Zelena through creating a portal to help Storybrooke residents find themselves trapped in a magic free cage of Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde believes they were sent there by the Dark One, whom is his target for vengeance. Through a series of events involving lots of changing between Jekyll and Hyde, our heroes manage to escape and save Dr. Jekyll from Hyde, by taking a potion splitting the two personalities into two bodies.

New Yorkers Believe in Magic

Meanwhile in New York, after Henry destroys Rumple’s attempt to use all the magic to get Belle back, Emma and Regina inform him that he’s now trapped Snow, Charming, Zelena and Hook. He sees an opportunity to create magic by having people believe in it outside of the New York Library. He has everyone throw coins in the fountain, creating so much magic, it makes a portal. All the heroes reunite and Rumple sneaks his way to the land of Hyde and strikes up a deal.

The Evil Queen is Back!

Regina is dealing with her inner demon throughout the whole finale. She says the Evil Queen lives in her and keeps wanting to get out. Emma and Snow come up with the idea to have her use the potion Dr. Jekyll used to split from Hyde. And then she can destroy the evil queen once and for all. Regina takes the potion, splitting her from the evil queen. Regina takes her heart and the queen becomes dust in the wind. But this is OUAT and the Queen was not destroyed.   Instead she makes a visit to the Dragon and takes his heart. Letting the audience know the Evil Queen is back and more evil than ever.

Evil Takes Over Storybrooke

Rumple sends Hyde to Storybrooke, where he tells our heroes that Storybrooke is his now. He warns that darkness is not easy to get rid of and that Storybrooke is now a place where many evil characters will dwell.

Okay Snow and Emma, we need to talk about your plan of splitting Regina into two. WHAT?! Why would you underestimate the power and smarts of the Evil Queen?! This was a plan made to fail from the beginning. I feel like no one was thinking this episode. Regina gets a pass because her true love died last episode. The rest of them have no excuse. And there’s no way that many New Yorkers would listen to some crazy kid talking about believing in magic. I’ve been to New York many times and that kind of excitement doesn’t faze New Yorkers. I’m excited to see what other characters this new world brings. It kind of reminds me of the Frankenstein episodes. I think it’ll make next season of OUAT a darker one. These stories are not for the faint of heart and I think it’ll take Storybrooke to a whole new level. And with Rumple in this new world and more villains I think he will also be a force to be reckoned with next season. Emilie De Ravin was probably on maternity leave this season so when she comes back, I’m anxious to see how she copes with everything that’s going on since it’s all happened because of her sleeping curse.
