11 Of The Most Underrated One Direction Songs Of All Time

Can you guys believe it’s been FIVE years since One Direction was formed? Ever since the successful boyband was put together, they’ve released four amazing albums, starred in their own documentary film called This Is Us, travelled around the world multiple times, and have done so much more. In honor of their five year anniversary, I’ve come up with the top 11 most underrated One Direction songs of all time.

These are the songs that never — sadsies — became singles or got any radio play even though they were AMAZING. But, at least we can enjoy them on their albums and rock out to them on our own, right?? Gotta look on the bright side of things! Let’s kick this list off:

11. I Wish (Up All Night)

Ugh. So many fetus feels! I feel like this is one of the most forgotten songs from “Up All Night,” but it’s so great. “I Wish” may not have been strong enough for radio play, but it certain holds its own against “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Gotta Be You,” and “One Thing.”

10. Half A Heart (Midnight Memories)

How could you not love a song that has five heartthrobs singing about how they’re incomplete without you? *Swoon*

9. Everything About You (Up All Night)

Everything about this song is great. Why didn’t it get a music video again? Oh right, because it wasn’t a single when it should have been!

8. Last First Kiss (Take Me Home)

One Direction is all around their pop hits and dance tracks, but every so often they record a slow song and it’s awesome. The memorable beat in “Last First Kiss” is sure to make your head bob along to the track. Not to mention the lyrics are pretty simple and easy to sing along to!

7. Girl Almighty (Four)

If One Direction were to release one more single from “Four” it should be this song. While the quintet totally changed up their pop sound for a more rock-y sound, “Girl Almighty” still had a touch of pop in it and that’s what makes it so great. You could totally hear the growth in their voices and change in their sound, but the upbeat tempo and catchy hook is reminiscent of their past pop albums and it’s fab. Like Hannah Montana sang, it’s the best of both worlds!

6. Act My Age (Four)

An ode to Niall’s Irish roots. It’s such a fun song to sing and dance too — why don’t people love this song again? “Act My Age” is like a modern remix of an old Irish folk song. It has just the right amount of pop beats that make an old classic new again! This one is also awesome live. Who wouldn’t want to see Niall do the Irish jig? That adorable son of a gun.

5. Magic (Take Me Home)

Not a lot of people know about this one — mainly because it was a bonus track in some other country — why must you do this to us, 1D? Fast beats, catchy lyrics, what more do you want from a One Direction song? ‘Cause everything they do is ma-ah-ah-ah-gic.

4. Strong (Midnight Memories)

In an album full of slow songs, “Strong” — aside from “Midnight Memories” and a few others — is great. How can you not love the lyrics of the song? Or the beat? I almost always do 1D’s signature rowing movement when Louis sings. Also, how can you not love Zayn’s solo? Totally under appreciated.

3. They Don’t Know About Us (Take Me Home)

This is one of the sweetest ballads 1D has ever sung — aside from “Little Things” and “18.” It’s literally like they’re singing about OUR hidden relationship. I know Harry, no one can ever know about us. 🙁 Wait, I think I just let the cat out of the bag. :X

2. Back For You (Take Me Home)

To be honest, I recently discovered this song and am not sure why I don’t remember listening to it?? “Back For You” is such a bop and you’ll know what I’m talking about when you press play below:

1. Still The One (Take Me Home)

“Still The One” did NOT get as much recognition as it should have. Not only can you clearly hear all of the guys’ vocals on the track, it has that perfect pop-y bubblegum sound that we all love. It’s also very catchy. Perfect on all counts!

This was seriously one of the hardest lists I’ve ever had to done. Let me know your thoughts! Which One Direction song do YOU think is highly underrated?
