In this week’s episode of Shadowhunters, “Major Arcana,” Simon is struggling with more hallucinations, Izzy is trying to change to meet her parents’ wishes and Clary has FOUND the Mortal Cup! The plot is starting to unfold more and I can already see the finale is going o be HUGE!

Where is this magical tarot card you ask? Well lucky for Clary, Luke is a pretty smart guy and cleared out Clary’s apartment after the fire. The tarot cards end up being in Luke’s desk at the police station. One would think that this would be a simple place to get to, but then Luke becomes the main suspect in a murder investigation! So Clary and Jace use their Shadowhunter powers to sneak into the building and retrieve the tarot cards.
Clary and Jace aren’t necessarily able to blend in with their runes and dark clothing. So Clary devises a plan that involves slapping Jace and acting as if she is at the police station to get a spare key from Luke. When the captain informs Clary that all of Luke’s stuff was confiscated and taken to the evidence vault, Jace calls for back up and comes up with a diversion plan.
Alec and Izzy arrive to assist in retrieving the Mortal Cup. Izzy is trying to act more “grown up” so she refuses to be the “distraction” in their missions anymore. The responsibility then falls to Alec, who obviously has an interest outside of this woman police officer, but he pulls it off smoothly and Izzy is able to shut down the power in the entire building. This allows Clary and Jace to sneak into the evidence vault undetected. Smooth criminals.
While the Shadowhunters are being perfect angels, Simon is across town thinking he is going insane. He has decided that he is in fact becoming a vampire. His hallucinations have become controlled by blood lust and his body has started turning on him. When he woke up next to Maureen, he seemed to be at peace until he started seeing Clary in her place. Of course he shouldn’t have called her Clary when she started having the “us” talk. Horrible mistake, Simon. After Simon leaves that awkward situation and runs to his favorite coffee spot, he has a blood filled hallucination and calls Clary to vent.
Some of my last minute thoughts: Why is Izzy’s mom so awful? Poor Izzy can’t even be herself because her mother doesn’t “approve” of how she spends her time. #Malec had a sleepover with cocktails? #Clace kissed!? Although it is important for Clary to find the cup and save her mom, I always love to see relationships blossom between my favorite characters.
