WARNING: Spoiler Alert!
As the ‘Summer of Answers’ comes to an end, I think it’s safe to say that everyone in the ‘PLL Army’ are all mind blown after watching the summer finale Tuesday night. After years of tears, torture and abuse, not only did we find out who Red Coat and Black Widow are, but also who the infamous A is. But I also think it’s safe to say some fans were left disappointed after the big reveal.
The episode started off where last week ended at the Senior Prom, as the Liars, along with Toby, Ezra and Caleb were on the search for Alison as she was chasing down A (who at the time was known to them as Charles).
The episode continues with Alison being trapped in a Radley. Meanwhile, Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Mona found the lair where A does all of the masterminding, including a hologram live video screening of a Radley bedroom with Alison inside. The liars see she’s talking to someone, but not sure who it was, until the camera turned showing a figure in all black about to expose herself.
CeCe Drake was revealed during the first ten minutes of the show as A. Flashbacks took over most of this episode to reveal:

We discovered how Toby’s mother was killed at Radley when Bethany pushes her off the rooftop. Bethany went on to tell everyone that it was really Charles, getting him in more trouble with the mental facility.
Charles transitions into a woman, CeCe, after feeling like a girl his entire life.
Mrs. D and CeCe have secret meetings through the years, even though Mr. D thinks ‘Charles’ is dead.
Mona had killed Bethany, thinking it was Ali.
Mrs. D made a deal with Detective Wilden that he would keep quiet that CeCe threw the rock at Ali, thinking it was Bethany.
… and
Red Coat and Black Veil were revealed to be Sara Harvey. Confused yet?
Oh, and since this is the summer of answers. I have a question for you: Did anyone else wonder if the mothers to the liars are still locked in that basement from the previous episode? 😂

The episode ends with all five liars making their way to college and when the next season begins this winter, it has been announced that there will be a five year time jump between season 6 and season 7.
