The American Music Awards announced the “2015 American Music Awards” nominees. Taylor Swift leads the pack this year with six nominations, while Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd tie with five nominations each.
This year’s show will take place on Sunday, November 22nd at 8:00pm ET on ABC. Triple threat, Jennifer Lopez will take on the hosting duties this year at the Microsoft Theater.
The Artist of the Year nominees are Luke Bryan, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor and The Weeknd. The ten nominees will be narrowed to five based on the votes received through November 11 at 11:59pm ET and the winner will be determined by the total votes received throughout the entire voting period.
As always, nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring.
