“The Bachelor” Recap: It’s Fantasy Suite Time! And Three Becomes Two!

It’s the final count down, people! This week was all about fantasies as Ben had the option to take each of the three girls to the fantasy suite for an evening.

But I think what we all want to talk about is the giant “L” in the room- that’s right, Ben used the “L” word- to not just one girl, but TWO of the three girls! I gotta tell ya, when Lauren B. said “I love you” and Ben said I back, I was squealing and clapping like my team just won the Super Bowl. It was adorable! Candid, sweet, genuine, and possibly a little intoxicated too? But who cares? At this point I am so confident LB will win that I was happy to see my prediction fall into place.

However, Jojo’s fantasy day lead to her confessing her true love to Ben, which he ALSO reciprocated! And I hate to say it- but I found myself smiling and saying “awww” when he said it to Jojo. Her reaction was so overwhelmed and honest that I found it endearing. But now that I have had time to think about it, I’m mad at Ben! What was he thinking saying “I love you” to TWO women when he only plans on marrying one?! I have heard theories that producers told Ben he had to say it to another girl to even the score, and that makes a lot of sense to me. Think about it! If Ben only said “I love you” to Lauren B in this episode, then the show would be done. There’s no competition, and no mystery as to who he will pick. Yet with both LB and Jojo thinking they are a shoe-in, that will make a very dramatic ending. Put yourself in the shoes of the loser for one second. The reason I’m mad at Ben for saying “I love you” to both girls is because of how much more pain the girl rejected will feel. Getting broken up with on national television is hard enough, but to be saying “I love you” to the guy the day before he breaks up with you on TV is going to be even more painful.

Speaking of break-ups, watching Caila get sent home was painful to see. I admire the girl for managing to keep a smile on her face, but dang, if there was ever an acceptable time to ugly cry and not smile on TV, this would be it. I didn’t expect her to win, but I did feel bad with how Ben’s energy did not match her excitement when she surprised him- only to get dumped.

My predictions? Ben initially picks Jojo, realizes he doesn’t want to join her circus of a family, then picks Lauren B in the end.

Some people speculate the phone call he makes is to Caila, though! What do you guys think? Who will be Ben’s fiancé? And WHO the HECK does he call at the end?! See y’all in 2 weeks for the FINALE!!!

In the meantime, you can tweet me your thoughts @TheKylieHodges – 2 weeks left to try and become the next Mrs. Higgins! :-p
