“The Bachelor” Week 3 Recap: Why Corrine Will Do Anything For A Rose

This week’s episode of “The Bachelor” picked up where we left off, which was at last week’s rose ceremony cocktail party. Nick is attempting to explain the Liz situation to the remaining women and ease their minds. Meanwhile, Corrine plans to turn up the heat and up her sex appeal game. She approaches Nick wearing nothing but a trench coat and holding a can of whip cream. I’m so embarrassed for Corrine and also pretty disappointed in Nick for not seeing through her yet! Does no one else realize that Corrine is 12 years younger than Nick? Anyway, back to the whip cream. Corrine proceeded to have Nick lick whip cream off her bare boob. After the free sample, Nick refuses to go further and basically shuts the situation down which leaves Corrine in tears. I guess the emotional roller coaster left Corrine feeling exhausted because instead of attending the rose ceremony, she decides to stay upstairs and take a nap. She already has a rose from last week’s group date so I guess she isn’t worried.

The next morning at the mansion, Chris Harrison makes a special announcement that this week’s dates are going to be extra special. In my opinion, this is a desperate attempt by the show to keep the women from leaving and to make sure they stay excited. Just as Chris walks out, The Backstreet Boys walk in. That’s right! This week the girls are going to get to hangout with The Backstreet Boys! Of course the girls won’t be getting off that easy. As all entertaining group dates go, the girls will have to compete for more time with Nick. The girls are taught a routine to perform on stage at The Backstreet Boys concert. The girl that dances the best and has the most chemistry with Nick will get to slow dance with him on stage while being serenaded by The Backstreet Boys. This group date was a struggle for Corrine because she’s not very good at “planned dancing.” Danielle wins the challenge and shares an intimate, yet pubic moment with Nick. Later that evening at the cocktail party, Corrine talks to Nick first. She apologized for the night before and said she only missed the cocktail party because she was upset. He forgave her and once again Corrine was happy. Next, Nick pulled Danielle aside. Nick and Danielle have a lot of chemistry and my prediction is that she will be making it pretty far this season. In other news, Corrine finally spilled the beans about her nanny Raquel. The girls were in shock about a 24 year old girl having a nanny and the results were hilarious. Don’t worry though, Corrine reassured us that waiting on her hand and foot makes Raquel happy. So… there’s that.

This week’s one-on-one date was with Vanessa. Vanessa is one of my favorites this season but I’ll get into more details about why that is later. On their date they get to go on a zero gravity plane. Basically, they get to float around like they’re in space! This is probably one of my favorite dates ever in bachelor history. After The Backstreet Boys of course. Everything is going well for Vanessa and Nick until reality strikes. All the floating around made Vanessa pretty sick and she threw up a few times in front of Nick. Don’t worry, the two still seemed to have a connection and Nick was actually pretty comforting. At dinner, the connection is as alive as ever! Nick gets emotional about the possibilities of finding love. He says that Vanessa makes him optimistic.

The second group date this week had the women competing in a “Nickathalon.” Astrid’s athletic skills helped her win the challenge and her prize was to sit in hot tub with Nick. This prize would have been more romantic had Astrid been allowed an outfit change but she was a trooper and hopped into that hot tub wearing her yoga pants. I guess you could say Astrid is a good sport. Later at the cocktail party, Dominique is having a hard time. She feels like Nick isn’t giving her a “fair chance.” This is a classic case of first impression rose syndrome if you ask me. Dominique ends up confronting Nick and in my opinion, frightening him. He ends up sending her home in fear of not being able to “give her what she needs.”

That’s not all! There was even more fun packed into this week’s episode. Nick decided to have a pool party instead of your average rose ceremony cocktail party (original). The pool party didn’t go swimmingly, to say the least. Corrine has a plan to make Nick feel special. She somehow manages to get a bounce castle in the mansion courtyard and while her and Nick are inside, she straddles him and some of the women see. After Nick’s bounce castle fun, the women take turns addressing him about their concerns with Corrine. Meanwhile, Corrine is taking a nap inside. This is when I became Vanessa’s biggest fan! She totally killed it when voicing her concerns to Nick and has the conversation I hope female viewers took notes on. She didn’t take the time to bash or degrade Corrine. Instead, she made Nick look dumb by saying, “I’m not judging Corrine, I’m judging your actions.” Vanessa is queen! She basically told Nick that if he’s going to behave this way, then she would just rather go home. The episode ended on this note and I’m dying! I’ll just be here rocking back and fourth until next week’s episode.
