“The Bachelorette” Week 8 Recap

The most heart wrenching goodbye of the season came when JoJo decided to let Luke go home. My heart really goes out to Luke. He looked shocked and even pale as he left an extremely emotional JoJo. Although, I have a feeling he’s in the running to be the next bachelor.

“I was in love with her but never got the chance to love her and that’s what hurts the most.”- Luke

This week was all about fantasy suite’s and further developing already strong relationships. In Hua Hin, Thailand Robby got the first date. Robby and JoJo spent the day walking around an outdoor marketplace. They got foot massages and tried weird foods. Ultimately, these two just enjoyed each others company. At the dinner portion of their date, JoJo expresses that she’s hesitant about things because of what happened between her and Ben. Robby comforts her by showing her a note his dad wrote for him during hometown week. The note basically acknowledged the strong feelings Robby has for JoJo from the person who knows him best in the world. He then gave the note to JoJo to comfort her if she ever questioned his intentions. Robby told JoJo that he isn’t like the guys in her past and he isn’t just going to say “I love you”, and leave. JoJo’s eyes lit up and you can tell she was comforted by Robby’s words. After dinner, JoJo handed the fantasy suite card to Robby and the two agreed to spend the night together. Robby isn’t afraid of expressing his love for JoJo and this is extremely comforting to her. JoJo says there is a way that Robby looks at her that makes her know that what he’s saying is true. She admits to the cameras that she is in love with Robby but has no intention of sharing this with him because she doesn’t want to make the same mistake Ben made.

“I’m head over heals for you Joelle.” – Robby

The second date of the week was with Jordan. JoJo and Jordan went on a pretty difficult hike that led them to a beautiful destination. The hike had them super out of breath and sweaty but Jordan said JoJo looked amazing. They eventually arrived at a temple which was where they were going to spend their date. The two weren’t allowed to kiss near the temple so they strictly focused on conversation. JoJo expresses that she’s still a bit scared that maybe Jordan is too good to be true. She questions whether or not he can really commit. At the dinner portion of their date, JoJo dives right into serious conversation. She expresses that she wants to trust Jordan but she’s scared. She then asks Jordan what the next year looks like for him and he responds with, “I don’t know 100%.” That response worries JoJo and isn’t what she was looking for. Jordan has the type of career that can change at any moment. JoJo prefers stability. Then Jordan attempts to comfort JoJo by saying, “I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” She responds by saying, “That’s what Ben said.” She asks Jordan how he knows that this in fact what he wants. He gives an extended heart felt response that makes JoJo feel better. JoJo concluded with, “I  feel like I got every answer I wanted.” The two decided to go on to the fantasy suite. JoJo admits to the cameras that she knows she loves Jordan. It scares her to be in love with two people. I think that JoJo has stronger feelings for Jordan but he scares her. For this reason, I think Robby and Jordan have an equal chance. I personally cannot wait to find out who she gets engaged to!

“I can see her walking down the aisle.” – Jordan

The last date of the week was with Chase. JoJo acknowledged multiple times that Chase was being more playful than usual on their date. She explained that he brings so much joy to her and that it couldn’t get much better than that. They took a boat ride to a beach where they just sat and talked. Both referred to this date as the “perfect day.” JoJo even said she didn’t want the day to end. While getting ready for the dinner portion of their date, JoJo is surprised by a visit from Robby. He expresses that he just wanted to see her because the time apart is hard. She’s glad Robby visited and even said that it reminded her of why she loves him. At dinner, Chase tells JoJo that he wants a future with her and wants to be the man she deserves. She extended the invitation to the fantasy suite and Chase accepts it. While in the suite Chase tells JoJo that he’s 100% in love with her. This is the first time Chase has expressed this to JoJo and it’s exactly what she’s been waiting for. She responds by stepping outside for a minute to think. Chase is left sitting there with only his thoughts to keep him company. JoJo is upset  because she’s not feeling the way she thought she would after hearing that Chase loves her. She goes back in and explains this to Chase. She tells him that it just wouldn’t be fair to spend the night together when she feels like this. Chase doesn’t respond well. He tells JoJo that he’s “shattered” and that he regrets saying he loves her. He even tells her that she never gave it a chance. She tries to comfort him by saying that she’s trying to prevent what happened to her with Ben. This was the most dramatic and emotional exit to ever take place during fantasy suite week. As Chase gets in the car to leave, he sarcastically says, ” is this my fantasy suite?” My heart went out to both Chase and JoJo. This moment was a little traumatizing. Chase admitted that this was the first time he said those words first. I hope this doesn’t effect every relationship he enters from now on.

“Love equals get the f#$* out.” – Chase

At the rose ceremony, no one is going to get sent home. Jordan and Robby simply need to accept their roses. JoJo seems happy heading into the ceremony. She starts off by explaining things to the two men. While she’s talking, Chase walks in. He pulls JoJo aside and tells her he’s not here to ask for a second chance but simply to end things on a better note. He tells JoJo that he’s proud of her and still has an immense amount of love for her. He tells JoJo that he isn’t mad at her and he didn’t want to end things negatively. I was pleasantly surprised by Chase’s visit and it made me think very highly of him. JoJo cried because she still cares for him but she knows she made the right choice. She goes back to the two men left standing and tells them that her feelings for both of them are very strong. JoJo says, “I knew I didn’t love Chase.” Both men accepted their roses and now we can all count down to the season finale!
