Thumbs Up for Sabrina Carpenter’s Thumbs Music Video

The cancellation of “Girl Meets World” isn’t stopping Sabrina Carpenter.  She just released her Thumbs music video last night at midnight!

Speaking of “Girl Meets World,” the setting of the entire music video brings back vibes from the pilot.  The music video takes place in a subway, as Sabrina, in an all black outfit, sings the words to her song.

As she sings her song while walking around the subway and the station, no one truly acknowledges her. Everyone is off minding their own business, dealing with their own troubles. Sabrina is just a whisper in the wind.

If you’re anything like me, the second verse really threw me back to the “Girl Meets World” pilot as she sings in front of a seat that looks like the one Lucas was sitting in when Riley first fell for him.  Whether this was intentional or not, it definitely stood out to me!

One of my favorite parts of the music video though is definitely during the bridge of the song.  In this part, the focus is on the other people who enter the subway with her as they start to lip sync to the song.  The entire time, however, no one acknowledges each other or even the camera.

My other favorite part of the music video is right after this occurs when the lights go out. As the lights flicker, Sabrina really gets into the song and the energy of the music video just escalates. People are now singing and dancing along, but still never acknowledging other people.

The entire music video really captures the essence of the song. It is honestly so powerful and a good reminder that everyone’s dealing with their own problems.  And, I can’t not acknowledge Sabrina’s hair! Flawless per usual!

Go check out the music video, and let me know what your favorite parts are!
