Team Adam Lavine

Starting off the night for team Adam is kid-star, Billy Gilman, going back to his country roots with Martina McBride’s “Anyway.”  Once again showing his incredible range and passion to perform, leading to another standing ovation from all four coaches.

Next up for Adam Levine is his only country artist, Josh Gallagher, singing a Tim McGraw classic, “Real Good Man.” Between his cool, effortless, country swagger that was brought out during his performance and his amazing pipes, it was a top 8 worthy performance. “A country star was on that stage tonight,” says coach Adam, and we couldn’t agree more.

Last of team Adam is the Brooklyn rocker and heart throb, Brendan Fletcher singing “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper.  This was a much more vulnerable side of Brendan that we have yet to see in the competition thus far.  Coach Adam said “this has the potential to be the song of the night,” during rehearsals and he was spot on!

Splitting up the contestants performances we had an amazing performance from coach Adam Levine and Maroon 5 singing their new hit “Don’t Wanna Know.”  Once again we are reminded why we love him so much!

Team Miley Cyrus

After being instantly-saved for the second week in a row, starting off the night for team Miley is Aaron Gibson singing “Rocket Man.” He gave a very cool, performance that was a hit for the coaches and audience, but will it be enough to escape being in the bottom for the third week in a row?

Closing out the night is team Miley’s powerhouse singer, Ali Caldwell singing “Without You.” She gave perhaps the most heart-wrenching, beautiful performance of the night receiving a rave review from coach Miley saying, “I am so honored to be your coach.”

Team Alicia Keys

Christian Cuevas is the first for team Alicia, singing a new Lady Gaga hit, but giving it his own spin… in his words “making Gaga, Christian.”  With one of the most powerful and emotional performances of the night, it would be a surprise to not see him advance.  Coach Blake Shelton saying he “had his moment.”

Team Alicia’s second and last artist of the night also happens to be the youngest left in the competition, We McDonald, taking on a Billie Holliday song.  With a voice WE beyond her years (get it?!) she sent the crowd into perhaps the most roaring applause of the night.

Team Blake Shelton

First up for team Blake is Courtney Harrell taking on Cher’s 80s hit, “If I Could Turn Back Time.” As coach Blake says, “she continues to loosen up each week,” and he couldn’t have been more spot on with this week’s 80s-inspired performance.

Blake’s country, family man, Austin Allsup hit the stage next.  Apparently, it’s 80’s week for team Blake because Austin decided on “Since You’ve Been Gone” by Rainbow.  Miley Cyrus followed his performance by saying, “I think this is my favorite performance of yours.”

Sundance Head is the closer for team Blake singing “Me and Jesus.” Ruling the country charts in previous weeks, it will be no surprise if this song follows.  Getting one of the very few standing ovations from all four coaches.

RESULTS

With a double elimination nerves were high at The Voice results show.  First to be voted through by America is team Adam’s Brendan Fletcher after his game-changing performance of “True Colors” last night.  Next up being voted through to no one’s surprise is team Blake’s country star, Sundance Head, who once again was topping the iTunes charts this week.  Alicia Keys was next to welcome a team member through to the top eight with Christian Cuevas being voted through by America.  Miley Cyrus evened the playing field when her powerful team member, Ali Caldwell, was the fourth performer to advance to the top eight.  Finally voted through by America’s votes were team Adam’s Billy GilmanWe McDonald from team Alicia and the third and final member from team Adam, Josh Gallagher.  This left team Blake’s Courtney Harrell and Austin Allsup and once again team Miley’s Aaron Gibson singing for their lives with The Voice instant save.

After Harrell, Allsup, and Gibson finished their performances it was up to the viewers to decide and ultimately they voted to instant save……….

FOR THE THIRD WEEK IN A ROW, AARON GIBSON!!! Can you believe he did it again?! This means Team Blake lost two team members this week saying goodbye to the talented Austin Allsup and Courtney Harrell.
