Exclusive Interview: Paxton Booth Talks Being on Disney Channel, Fashion, and Acting

I had the pleasure to interview young actor, Paxton Booth. He started acting at just three-years-old! Get the scoop below on his rise to fame!

You’re on Disney Channel’s Coop & Cami Ask the World, could you tell us a little bit about the show and your character?

The show is about a mom and her four kids that have a live stream show. They ask their followers for their opinions. My characters name is Ollie. He’s the youngest of the family and he is the tech pilot for the live stream called Would You Rather. That means he mostly does the silly stunts. At the end of the day I’m usually covered in some silly goo.

What age did you start acting and what was the first time acting?

I started acting when I was three-years-old! My first job was a Thomas the Train commercial, it was super cute. Really all I had to say was “Choo choo, go up the hill, go down the hill” and just play with the toys. It was really funny!

What other shows have you been on and how has it helped you as an actor?

I have been fortunate enough to have been on many different types of shows. From The Romanoff’s, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and I formed a little bit from each of those jobs I’ve done. It just helped spending time in front of the camera, which is great practice.

What made you become so interested in BMX and cars?

Well, my dad was the editor for a BMX magazine. So I kind of just grew up going to skate parks and riding bikes, it’s something I’ve always done with my dad. Sort of the same thing with cars. My mom and dad love cars. Since the day I was born really, I’ve been going to car shows. I think it’s kind of in my blood. It’s just a family thing we do together.

What or who has inspired your style?

I don’t know if one person has inspired my style but I think fashion is kind of an attitude. I love the people who carve the fashion industry and think out of the box, like David Bowie with his crazy outfits! Even the Gucci ad campaigns that are so outrageous and awesome! I have to also kind of think out of the box when I’m putting together an outfit.

One day you would like to start your own fashion line. Could you talk a little about what you would want it to be like?

I want to bring that “adult” into the kids section and give more of a variety of an option. Also, I don’t want any gender labels on the clothes because it would just make it one big section that everyone could shop in.

What is it like doing your own stunts?

They are so rad! Usually, when I do my stunts, I’m in a big harness attached to a cable that is also attached to the ceiling. I go up or down or sideways! I always have a stunt coordinator there to make sure I’m safe. Sometimes when I do the gooey stuff, it stains. One time I was a human pipe cleaner and they had to run me through this big cylinder. It was full of green goo and they didn’t think it would go through my leotard but it did and I was green!

Aside from acting, you support many charitable causes. Can you tell us about that?

My family and I, during the holidays, we go out and help feed the less fortunate. In my spare time, I spend time at Paw Works, which is an animal rescue organization.

Keep up with Paxton on his social media and watch his show Coop & Cami Ask the World!
