The music industry is going to be taking notice on September 20, 2019. That’s the date when Rence will be releasing his upcoming EP, Fall 2019. Lucky for his fans, today, the singer is releasing the second song, I know.
With a music video being released soon, the single gives glitchy synths bubbled between a skittering beat, ominous samples, and off-kilter instrumentation. Over this backdrop, he vaults from robotic warbling into an airy alternative R&B croon before transmitting a soulfully pop hook. It remains representative of his inimitable and ingenious genre- shifting.
Fall 2019 EP is gearing up to be Rence’s most personal project yet.
Rence explained it saying, “I am so excited to release this not only because I’m proud of it, but also because getting it out there might will allow me to move onto my next chapter; my next season. Fall 2019 feels like my best work yet, but if it’s not at least it is my most “me,” at least so far, at least right now.”
As an industry disruptor, Rence magnifies his personal perspective through a genre-less palette, bordering pop, alternative, electro, indie and hip-hop all at once, yet never dipping into one for too long.
He said of the EP, “The mood is darker—not necessarily because I’ve become darker, but because I have a dark side, and it’s been hanging around a lot lately. Basically, these songs are me going a little crazy. They were created while lost in myself and the world…feeling the weight of the world while still trying to keep a positive outlook that so many want from me.”
Speaking of darker… the EP also features the recently released single, Darkside. As a whole, the project adheres to a cohesive and captivating theme emblematic of his evolution.
