Demi Lovato’s Vanity Fair Shoot: No Makeup, No Clothes, No Retouching

Demi Lovato bares it all for her surprising and spontaneous Vanity Fair photoshoot that took place in Lovato’s NYC hotel room late one evening while promoting her fifth studio album, Confident, due out October 16.

The ‘Cool for the Summer’ songstress teamed up with renowned photographer Patrick Ecclesine for her sexy photoshoot, that included the singer in the shower, sitting on her bathtub and posing in bed. Her total hourglass figure is on full display for the world to see all of her ‘assets’ in these revealing, yet tasteful photos.

The idea came about when an emotionally drained Lovato expressed her sadness on losing her great-grandfather Buddy Moore, who had died the day before.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the past day, it’s that life is too short,” she said. “I’m about to launch an album that finally represents who I truly am. How do I embrace this new chapter in my life? How do I really walk the walk? What does it mean to be confident? It means letting go, being authentic, saying I don’t give a f—k and this is who I am. I want to show the side of me that’s real, that’s liberated, that’s free. What if we do a photo shoot where it’s totally raw? Super-sexy, but no makeup, no fancy lighting, no retouching, and no clothing. Let’s do it here, let’s do it now.”

Demi also touched on her past struggles with eating disorders and how she hated ‘every inch of her body’ and spent time trying to find ways to love the skin that she is in. She now embraces her curves and encourages others to believe that everyone is beautiful in their own way.
