Your new single, “Back to Bite,” was recently released. What has been the feedback you have received?

The most amazing feedback I’ve gotten is people telling me this song makes them feel badass and want to fight back.

This single is not your average break-up song. What was the inspiration behind this hit?

Probably because it isn’t really a break-up song hehe. I wrote it as a female empowerment anthem. I wanted to write a song that someone who just got cheated on could relate to and someone who is struggling with the aftermath of sexual assault could relate to. It’s a way to take back our voices.

This song represents a new chapter in your life. Was there a specific experience or moment that made you realize it was time for a change?

It was a culmination of things! This past year I really took the time to reflect on my self and do some needed therapy. It was through that self-discovery process that I came to.

At only 21 years old you are revolutionizing pop music. What are your future plans for your music?

My goal is just to make music that means something. I want it to mean something to me though, before anything else. Because if I’m singing something disingenuous, there’s no way people are going to get that awesome feeling of connectivity music can provide.

Let’s go back to the beginning…when did your love for music start? Has it always been your dream to make it in the music industry?

When I was younger, I would sit in my room and practice the classic Disney commercial, “This is Taylor and you’re watching Disney Channel!” But as I’ve grown older, making it doesn’t directly equate to fame. I don’t think I’d be good at being a famous person. I really just want to succeed enough to be able to create and do what I love for the rest of my life.

What is it like looking back at your journey and realizing how far you have come?

There’s a lot there. It’s heartwarming because I’m proud of myself and at the same time time, it’s bittersweet because I wish I had been more sure of myself throughout my childhood and adolescence.

You really broke out in the industry in 2016 when you opened for Jacob Whitesides on his summer tour, “Lovesick.” Later that year you were a special guest on The Summer Set’s “Made for You” tour across the USA. How did you land these roles?

To be completely honest, even I don’t really know. I just feel lucky and go with it.

Your single and debut album, “Space Case,” was produced by the award winning, Josh Abraham. He is a music producer to stars such as Justin Bieber, P!nk and Kelly Clarkson. What is it like working with such a successful producer?

Intimidating for sure! But on top of being super successful, he’s super nice as well so I never got out of place.

What are some future projects we can look forward to? Any new music coming out we can look forward to?

My E.P. Is coming out this fall!

Do you have any messages you would like to share with your friends?

I don’t tell you guys enough how much I appreciate each and every one of you, whether you’ve been in my life for a day or if you’re a day one. That was cheesy. But it’s true.
