It’s that time of year again, folks!
The MTV Video Music Awards just revealed their list of nominees for this year’s award show and it’s going to be a close one. Taylor Swift is leading the pack with nine — yes, NINE — nominations while her bestie Ed Sheeran is trailing behind her with six noms! We have a feeling Tay Tay may sweep up all of the awards this year since she’s been killing it with every music video she has released from 1989 so far.
But who knows! T-Swizzle could very well share the wealth and allow some of her peers to win in the categories she’s nominated in. While the show is a little over a month away, Heather and I are going to lock down our predictions for the winners of the biggest awards the show has to offer. Check out our predictions below!
VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Taylor Swift ft. Kendrick Lamar, “Bad Blood”
Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars, “Uptown Funk”
Kendrick Lamar, “Alright”
Heather: This is going to be a toss up between Ed Sheeran and T-Swizzle. Obviously every girl wants Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ to be played at their wedding. It’s probably the most romantic song I’ve heard in a long time. Then there’s Taylor and her whole slew of bad ass friends that can only be summed up in one hashtag #SquadGoals. I have never been more envious of a group of friends in my entire life. The song is a serious anthem and I hope Tay Tay slays!
Michelle: This is SUCH a difficult one, but I agree with Heather. I have a feeling Taylor’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video is going to win in this category. As much as I love Beyoncé, her video was very simple compared to Taylor’s epic showdown. Nothing really compares to this gif from B’s 7/11 music video, but then again this isn’t the MTV Gif Awards.
