Pop singer/songwriter Jayden Lange is about to head out on the road, but for most musicians, that means a tour is on the horizon. With Covid-19 things have changed for many singers. The 20-year-old from Frederick, Maryland is hitting the road in a different way. He and his family have decided to pack up their lives with no plan in place and explore in a RV whatever comes their way!
Jayden, who has amassed over 56k followers across all platforms off his covers and music chatted with Pop Hearts about this once in a lifetime opportunity. Check out our interview below!
First off, thank you for taking the time to chat about this exciting adventure you are about to go on, we are so excited to learn more!
For the fans, explain what you and your family are about to embark on. What made you and your family decide to do this?
Jayden Lange: We couldn’t afford living in our house long-term due to losing our jobs during Covid, so we sold our house and we’re moving into a RV to travel the country for 3 months.
Talk about getting around and traveling in the RV. What’s that going to be like?
We don’t know where we’re going. We also have no clue how to camp, so it should be a crazy adventure. We wanted to go on this trip to honestly slow down time and find happiness long-term. We’re all stuck in a constant routine of work. My parents work really physical jobs. It was time for them to take a step back, relax and enjoy life for a bit.
Do you have any plans in place for what you want to do?
We don’t have any set plans. We’re basically going to pack up the RV. Then, sit down and vote if we want to go North, East, South or West. I’m definitely planning on writing more songs, posting covers, playing shows everywhere I go. All while continuing to improve my musicianship on the road.
Where are some places you want to go?
I would love to visit the Redwoods in CA, Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado and the Great Lakes.
While traveling you’re filming a documentary called, “Road to Happiness.” Will you release all at once or will you release as you are traveling?
I’m planning on releasing episodes weekly on my Instagram and YouTube. If I could I would love to release it while I’m traveling but I’m just playing it by ear. I know my brother Tristen Lange is doing a docu-series that he plans on posting as we travel.
Will you be working on your music while on the trip?
For sure! I definitely think there’s going to be some trouble shooting. Like figuring a way to get everyone out of the RV for a hour or so when I record covers and stuff. We’ll figure something out.
What are a few items that you had to take with you?
My guitar, recording equipment and my laptop. I’m going to have a ton of time to work on music. Plus, it’s something that I love to do everyday.
What is something you will miss the most while traveling?
Definitely my friends. I also think I’ll miss living in a house. For example, having my own room and space. We’re going to be in a RV with two dogs, a cat, a sugar glider and a total of five people! You can imagine, there’s not much room haha.
How did your friends react when you told them?
They were shocked as much as I was when my parents told me they’re going to do this. But they said it sounded like a really cool adventure.
What else should fans know about this adventure?
This is a once of a lifetime experience. I can’t wait to show you what we’re going to go through. It’s going to be a learning experience not just for my family, but to everyone else that’s watching. For example money doesn’t make you happy. Life is short. Spend time doing stuff you love and what makes you happy. Don’t be afraid to try new things or get out of your comfort zone. And much more!
Thank you so much to Jayden Lange for chatting with us! We cannot wait to watch your adventure in “Road to Happiness”!
