Selena Gomez’s self-love ballad, Lose You to Love Me has been on repeat since the moment it was released. I absolutely love it! While it easily one of my new favorite songs. Everyone has been quick to comment about who it’s about.

As of March 2018, everyone has been waiting to get comment from Selena Gomez. Not only about her breakup, but Justin Bieber’s new relationship and even more recent marriage, to Hailey Baldwin.

Selena has kept quiet until last night when she released her brand-new single, Lose You to Love Me. Everyone’s been assuming that her single is about her break-up with on-and-off again ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.

Although they broke up in March of 2018, Bieber recently married Hailey Baldwin, who he began dating two months after his relationship with Selena. It has caused quite the media frenzy.

Some of the lyrics seem to even point toward Bieber and their relationship. Especially this verse, “I gave my all and they all know it. You turned me down and now it’s showing. In two months, you replaced us. Like it was easy. Made me think I deserved it. In the thick of healing, yeah.”

For the song, Gomez turned to lyrical geniuses, Julia Michael and good pal, Taylor Swift to help write the ballad. Every sounds has been crafted so carefully, that it boarders on beautifully written poetry.

There’s not many times when lyrics hit you hard, but these do. “I saw the signs and I ignored it. Rose colored glasses all distorted. Set fire to my purpose” and “I needed to lose you to find me. This dancing was killing me softly. I needed to hate you to love me.”

If you listen carefully to the music playing, you can hear Julia Michael’s influences throughout the track as well.

Well, read the lyrics and decide for yourself. Do you think the song was about Justin? Regardless, let’s just focus on how beautiful and empowering the song is. Whether you are going through a breakup or just love great music, this song will definitely be playing on repeat.
