Taylor Swift To Receive Artist of the Decade Award At the Upcoming American Music Awards

Ten time Grammy winner Taylor Swift’s career just keeps getting better.

Fresh off of her latest album release for Lover, the popstar is set to be honored at next month’s American Music Awards for Artist of the Decade.

On Wednesday, Dick Clark Productions made the announcement to celebrate Swift’s achievement during the broadcast on Sunday, November 24th where she is also expected to take the stage to perform some of her hit songs that got her to where she is now.

“Taylor’s impact on music this decade is undeniable and her performances on the American Music Awards have been truly spectacular,” Mark Bracco, Executive Vice President, Programming & Development, at Dick Clark Productions said in the press release.

 “We’re thrilled to honor her as our Artist of the Decade and can’t wait for her to blow everyone away with an epic, career-spanning performance unlike any other!”


But that’s not all, if the You Need To Calm Down singer wins at least two awards that evening she will break the record for most awards won at in the history of the event which is currently held by the late singer Michael Jackson.

This year she is up for awards in the following categories: Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, and Video of the Year for her song You Need To Calm Down.
