Everyone’s favorite week is finally here! The week of hometown dates is definitely one of the most entertaining. I was more excited than usual this season because I was looking forward to watching Arie squirm (evil laugh).
Kendall’s Hometown
Arie started the episode in Los Angeles, California for his date with Kendall. She wasted no time warming us up or mentally preparing us for the day’s festivities. Right off the bat, Kendall takes Arie to her taxidermy warehouse. Yes folks, it’s just as terrifying as it sounds. A hometown date wouldn’t be complete without and interactive activity though! So Kendall and Arie stuffed and dressed up (dead) rats! Arie wasn’t even scared. He actually said he’s falling for Kendall. When we meet Kendall’s family, we also meet her twin sister Kylie. Yes, Kendall has a twin sister that isn’t on the show with her. What gives? We can only do the blonde twin thing once? Also… Kendall and Kylie? Really? The date ended with Kendall telling Arie she loves him.
Tia’s Hometown
Okay so Tia doesn’t have a twin sister but she does have a brother with a crazy look in his eyes. When he and Arie sat down to talk he called him a playboy kissing bandit! LMAO! He’s giving Arie so much more credit than he deserves! When her dad talks to Arie he also confronts him about being a “playboy.” He somehow manages to convince the men in Tia’s family that he isn’t a playboy and Tia tells him she loves him. He says it was a perfect day.
Becca’s Hometown
I have two words to describe Becca’s date and those words are UNCLE GARY. Uncle Gary is terrifying but also my favorite. Since Becca’s dad passed away, her uncles are extra protective of her. Uncle Gary gave Arie a hard time but in the end the family liked him and he got Becca’s mom’s approval.
Lauren’s Hometown
Lauren comes from a huge house in Virginia and a very conservative military family. Now we know where Lauren gets her “quietness” from because her family doesn’t say much. During dinner Arie takes a minute to step out because hes extremely nervous. He’s always walking out on Lauren’s dates. He either gets really nervous around her or really gassy. Arie managed to win over Lauren’s Air Force officer dad by mentioning that he went to Iraq once to hangout with soldiers. Overall, he seems to have made a good impression on Lauren’s family.
Rose Ceremony
Before giving out roses, Arie pulls Kendall aside to talk. He has concerns and asks her if she feels like she can get to the point of an engagement. She says she sees a lot in him that she loves but can she say in this moment that she’s ready to get married? No. They come back in and he apologizes and says he’s just trying to make the right decision. Tia didn’t get a rose and she leaves absolutely devastated.
