It’s been nearly three months since Jake Miller teased the world with his latest bop, Last Text. I don’t know about everyone else, but I have literally been griping for this song ever since we were given the tiny taste of it last June. Last Text may be his best song to date.
The catchy beat and confident lyrics should be anyone’s Hot Girl (or Guy) Summer anthem to get over that one person in your life, that maybe you need to let go of, you didn’t need that person anyone anyways. Just send that one last text and be done with it… LOL
I think these lyrics are just too good not to share, “They say to fight for the things that you love, but there come a point where you gotta give up… Wishing my screen would light up with your name, but you call as often as rain in LA… This is my last try to get through to you, this is my last time I cry over you. I promise this it the last text that I’ll send. Then you’ll never hear from me again.”
Last Text might be in my top three songs the triple threat singer, songwriter, and producer has ever put out, and well, let’s just say I gave 2:00am in LA, some RAVE reviews, so that’s saying A LOT.
The song also marks the third of five new songs Jake Miller is rolling out this summer. The first two songs released this summer were NERVOUS and OCEAN AWAY.
Last Text was written by Miller alongside Fly By Midnight’s Slavo, singer-songwriter Spencer Sutherland, and newcomer Scott Pelsang with Miller, Slavo, and Pelsang serving as co-producers.
