Music has a way of connecting the world. Music is a universal language. Music does not discriminate. Music is healing. The world needs what music has to offer now more than ever. Singer, songwriter, and actress, Quinn L’Esperance believes that when we all come together, great things can happen.
“Togetherness really does have a power when we’re all going through this, we’re all experiencing the same thing. I’ve seen so many people come together, especially on social media and just promote positivity and inclusivity through all of this,” says Quinn.
The Cleveland, Ohio native recently released her new single, Human Connection. The lyrics hold even more meaning now given the world’s current state and these uncertain times.
“It really doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, your financial situation, there are literally no borders for this crisis,” says Quinn. “It’s hugely important that we are coming together while staying apart and finding new ways to connect. We see how special it is to have human connections in our life. I think after this, there will be a lot of positive change with how people interact.”
As a little girl, Quinn was a figure skater until a bad knee injury forced her to find a new hobby.
“Getting off the ice wasn’t a choice,” says Quinn. “I always loved to act and sing but I never had a chance to try because I was constantly at the rink.”
After her injury, she signed up for theater camp and discovered her true talents in music and performing. “Everything happens for a reason,” says Quinn.
Quinn is working on a new album that is set to be released at the end of 2020 on her own QKL record label. She is also going live every Tuesday on Facebook at 8pm EST and Instagram at 9pm EST as a way to connect with her fans during this unprecedented time. She performs new cover songs live each week.
“It gives people something to look forward to…I definitely look forward to it,” says Quinn. “It’s a nice distraction from what’s going on.”
Quinn is looking forward to summer, sunshine and getting back to Nashville to finish her album. But she is also appreciating this time to relax and be with her family in Cleveland. “I’m really happy to be here and be present with my family,” says Quinn.
Quinn has a special relationship with her older brother, Conner, who has inspired her especially when it comes to the message she wants to convey through her music. “He’s my rock, I’m really just taking in all the moments right now to be here and enjoy his company.”
Conner has special needs and Quinn learned early in her childhood how important it is to promote inclusivity and also be a voice for people who feel like they don’t necessarily have one.
“I want to include everybody and make sure that whoever you are, wherever you are, that you feel heard in some way, that somebody relates to you,” explains Quinn. “I want to empower those who need to be empowered and who don’t feel that they have a voice.”
